Our book group has read all of Fr. Greg's books. Regarding Cherished Belonging, we've read the first three chapters so far, and it looks like this latest book has raised some criticism in the way Fr. Greg is citing scripture to back up his theology. I'm a stead fast supporter of Fr Greg's often citing our God as always loving. But the controversy seems to be about the lack of any kind of correction or guidance regarding grievous behavior that we find in the New Testament. We attribute this to Fr Greg's unique ministry (which is not to say that we all need correction) - my hopeful bias being reminded of God's stead fast love for us all (eg. The Prodigal Son).

This book helped keep me from spiraling at this time in our country’s history. Though difficult, Father Greg shows that love is the best response to hatred and division.

I greatly appreciate your description of a God who loves so generously. A God who is "no to anger" rather than slow to anger.

The book discussion group I am in just read Cherished Belonging. Everyone was very impressed with the book. There was so much to discuss that we are continuing the discussion at the next meeting. It is a book everyone should read.
